Desert explorer 3 days

Even if you just have three days and two nights to explore the Moroccan Sahara Desert, you can still go far away from the crowds and wild camp in the area west of the settlement of M’hamid El Ghezlane. Each day, you have the option of walking or riding a camel to your destination. Daily hiking will average 5-6 hours, with extended lunch breaks among towering Tamarisk trees. A trip out and back to the hamlet of M’hamid El Ghezlane may be completed in 3 days and 2 nights.

You may take a private car transport with us from Marrakech or Ouarzazate to the starting site of the hike in M’hamid El Ghezlane, or you can use the national bus service (CTM). When traveling by bus from Marrakech, expect to spend about 10 hours on the road. We can pick you up in the morning and return you to your guesthouse in the area of M’hamid, the hamlet, in the late afternoon. A bus leaving Marrakech at 11:15 a.m. will bring you to M’hamid at approximately 9:30 p.m. There is an extra payment for transportation to M’hamid and for the guesthouse.

Your desert guide will meet you at your guest-house and you can start the trek from there. Aim for an 08:30am departure time.
For the return to Marrakech, the national bus service departs M’hamid at 6am, arriving around 4pm to Marrakech. Alternatively, we can arrange a private vehicle transfer with a later start time from M’hamid.
