With its Jemaa el-Fna plaza and souks (markets) selling pottery, jewelry, and metal lanterns, Marrakesh’s medina, a labyrinthine medieval district, is a lively site. The capital of Morocco, Rabat, is home to the 12th-century royal fort known as the Kasbah of the Udayas, which has a view of the ocean.
